Provide Books
What We're Looking For
OneBook wouldn't be possible without book donations from generous individuals like yourselves. Since we are a nonprofit, we rely on donations of new and used children’s books that people are willing to give. As such, we usually collect reading material through a series of book drives based in schools, libraries, and other charitable organizations. Please follow our social media to keep updated on the various locations and dates of our book drives.

If you would prefer donating at your own leisure (i.e., not directly through a book drive), we would greatly appreciate it if you mailed or dropped off your donation at one of the following locations:
North Allegheny Sr High School: Mon-Fri, 7:30AM-2:30PM
1410 Chadworth Court, Pittsburgh, PA 15237
If you plan to drop off your donation, please package the books somehow (e.g., in a box, etc.) labeled with your contact information as well as "OneBook Donation." If you plan to mail your donation, please include sender contact information and recipient name as "OneBook."

As hardcover books tend to be weighty, raising shipping costs, we ask that you only donate paperback books.

We sort books by reading level as outlined below. This ensures that we are delivering appropriate material to each of our target schools. If you would like, you may assign a level yourself to each of your donated books. This is completely optional, however, as we will be sorting through the books ourselves, as well.

Please give us a call, +1 412-995-0112, if you are interested in providing books so we can briefly discuss specific arrangements.

Level 1
Level 1 books are your everyday picture books or beginners' books. Great to first start learning to read (English).
Examples are: The Cat in the Hat, No, David!, etc.
Level 2
Level 2 books are beginners' novel-type books. These are more detailed stories than Level 2, but not difficult to read. Often called "easy-reads."
Examples are: Magic Tree House, Nancy Drew, etc.
Level 3
Level 3 books are more advanced-type novels. These books have more complex plots and literary elements, and usually require focus/concentration for full understanding. The difficulty for this level has a broader range.
Examples are: Flush, The Book Thief, etc.
Level 4
Level 4 books comprise of all other books with difficulty higher than Levels 1, 2, and 3. These books are intense, thought-provoking, and require serious reading ability and knowledge to fully understand. They call upon the deepest comprehensive skills, and are often classical works.
Examples: Moby Dick, A Tale of Two Cities, etc.

We usually are not looking for Level 4 books, as we would like to teach the English language as well as the associated culture, whereas these books are more suitable for literary analysis and teaching reading comprehension.
